I created this site because I've been researching girls' media production for over a decade now, and wanted to pull together in one place information on girl media producers, as well as programs for and research about girls' media-making.

If you'd like me to link to your work or program, please email me. This project will grow and be useful only through the help of good people like yourself. I'm especially interested in adding information on programs and research from outside the U.S. Thanks!

Spotlighting: Mediagirls

MEDIAGIRLS℠ is a ten-week non-profit program in the Boston area that teaches middle-school girls to critique how girls and women are portrayed in mainstream media with an emphasis on creating content that showcases girls and women who are brave, smart, adventurous, and compassionate.

Spotlighting: TVbyGirls


TVbyGIRLS is a nonprofit organization in Minneapolois that works with girls ages 10 to 18 to build leadership, compassionate and collaborative working skills, critical thinking and engagement in social justice and the issues of their communities.
